I've recently been drawing from the latest issues of Vogue, because I've wanted to expand my drawing skills, to learn to draw figure better, not just faces. I find them really inspiring not only because of the fashion, but because i've began to appreciate how creative the photography is. The clothes are sold by how beautifully they are portrayed, which can be how portraits are successful too. Fashion Illustration is something I think I may want to look into.
There are many natural elements that can be found in these magazines, including the clothes themselves having animal print on them, models posing with animals, as well as outside scenery. These can all be linked to wild life, and i think that this could be how I link together my love for animals, and my love for portraits together.
I think if I tried to make a magazine, this could be a nice way to tie together wildlife and humans, and experiment with different compositions and medias in the process. There are many angles to this as there are beauty shots in fashion magazines, where they just focus on the face, as well as full length pictures too.
